A glorious celebration of our elders.

These psychedelic, human-sized termite mounds are a celebration of our elders.

Far from a bleak interpretation of what it means to be ‘old’, this artwork is a joyful celebration of the elderly as mythical beings, and magical treasure troves of colourful stories and countless birthdays.

Taking ‘Home’ into the context of the natural world, these alien totems remind us of standing stones or mystical fungi, alive and hinting at other worlds. Is it the end of the party – or is it just the beginning?

‘Home’ has toured arts festivals, care homes and groups for the elderly, offering engaging memory stimulation and emotional expression, especially those suffering with dementia or the visually impaired.

‘Visions of Home’ Creative Workshops

This planet is our only home, and one day we will all be old - what kind of world will you want to live in?

Inspired by COP26, artist Beccy Mccray invites you to playfully explore the wisdom of our elders. Using tactile techniques you’ll work together, sharing stories, collectively learning from the past and helping to create a positive vision of a low carbon future.

Suitable for all ages; 10 y/o and under should be accompanied by an adult.
